Scholarship programme
2. 1. We have to decide the cut off marks for selecting such students. Say 65 or 70%. We will concentrate on SEBA. If it is CBSE or ICSE then the marks should be above 80%. We will target rural areas and say 2 students from each subdivision.
3.
2. Now, the question comes about the information of such students. We will need the booklet of the results. Then we have to contact the Principal's of the schools or say the president of Gaon Panchayat the students belong to. Local correspondence of different news papers can also help us in this purpose.
4.
3. Before that we have to publish through the news papers & FM channels that PROYAASH going to award scholarship to the talented students of Below Poverty Line from rural areas.
5.
4. According to me we should have option regarding scholarship. Can be any one of these 3:-I) Admission fees of the local colleges/HSS will be paid to such students. Coordinator of the concerned subdivision will make it sure that admission has been taken.
II) Course book's expenditure will be taken care by PROYAASH for the 1st year. It will be directly monitored by the main body of PROYAASH.
III) Educational Magazine's subscription for the selected students will arranged by PROYAASH for 2years. Options of 2/3 Magazines will be given to the students or will be decided by PROYAASH itself.
6. Eligible students for the said Scholarship will submit their Xeroxed copy of Mark sheet and BPL Card attested by the president of concerned GP.
7. Application will be available in PROYAASH website and the concerned coordinator will help them out in downloading it.
8. Filled in form will be collected by the district co ordinator. They will send it to the chief co ordinator for the grant of scholarship. Chief co ordinator will present it in front of the main body of PROYAASH for finalization through online conference. Before that scanned documents will be mailed to PROYAASH.
9. Once the scholarship amount is finalized & granted the chief co ordinator & district coordinator will take the interview of the student and the guardians. Once found everything satisfactory the scholarship will be awarded.
10. District co ordinator will monitor the progress of the students and extra care will be taken like tuition fees or others if found necessary.
11. Necessary information regarding prospectus and admission dates of important institutions will be available in PROYAASH website. It will reduce the burden of surfing the net for all the students. That's all for now regarding Scholarship scheme. Any proper modification and suggestions will be highly appreciated.
Flood relief work
1. Once the flood badly hits the state, our initial step will be taken care by the Sub divisional co coordinators. Immediately they will contact the district administration. They will collect the information about the blocks got effected by flood. This information will be available in the DC office, Sub-Divisional office, Circle office & in the Information and Broadcasting Deptt.
2.Second step will be to find out the approximate population got effected by the flood in concerned area or block. Head of the village (Gaon Burha) or GP or the DC office, Sub-Divisional office, Circle office & the Information and Broadcasting Deptt will be handy in this.
3.Then PROYAASH have to decide what kind of relief will be given to those blocks. Medical Camp/ Food/Cloth/transportation any one for a single block. The relief can be differing from block to block. We will have to join hands with the administration in this. But we will have to strictly monitor that the relief reaches the effected area and properly distributed..
4.Village Level workers of different rural health centers will be helpful for this.
5.But for all these we need fund. A huge amount will be required. We will have to join hands with different social organizations for these. Not an easy process but as the word Impossible itself says I'm possible.
6. Last but not the least as I always said "Xoor – Bahini" will be a guiding force for us as an much much more experienced organisation in this field.
During the time of flood we must have a team which will provide all the necessary items regarding the most common diseases during flood
There must be several teams to cover up a large number of flood affected regions.
The team:
A) 1 doc
B) 2-3 volunteer nurses
C) 5-6 volunteers to manage the public gathering
D) The necessary medicines
e) if possible there should be an ambulance
f) 2 volunteer to distribute the medicines .they must have a little pharmaceutical skills
g) There should be separate place to check up the patients. It can be inside the ambulance van
The team will work like this:
1) Physical check up of every flood victims
2) In case of contagious diseases, the patient should be separated from the others
3) In case of any emergency, the patient should be transferred to the nearby govt. hospital
4) Distribution of the medicines: During the distribution process the volunteers should be very careful as they can misinterpret the prescription which is very common now-a-days.
The most common diseases during flood are,
Diarrheal diseases,
Dysentery,
Typhoid,
Amoebiasis,
Enterobiasis,
Cholera,
Hepatitis A,
Allergic infection,etc.
a team should carry all the necessary medications to fight with the above mentioned diseases..
Transportation of medicines to the flood affected areas...
a)The medicines should be carried in some kind of plastic packets so that water cannot affect them
b)The medicines should be packed in such a way that the volunteers can easily find them out
The sanitation aspects that the camps of the flood victims need to take care of,especially after the flood is over:
1)Providing them drinking water
2)Using of bleaching powder to prevent any kind of infection.
3)Malaria is a common disease during the time of flood. We have to use DDT and we should carry antimalarial drugs with us.
4)Maintance of personal hygiene:The victims should be explained to maintain their personal hygiene and if possible we should provide them temporary sanitary toilets.
As some preventive measures we can provide them athua (net)s, blankets etc

From a single scrap from Bhaskar Jyoti Saikia vowing saving some pocketmoney for the downtrodden on 1st March 2008 in a social Networking community website Orkut till today, this organization have been progressing on three things --- the zeal of the young generation, the calming and resourceful influence of experienced professionals and the over bearing emotion of doing something for their motherland, Assam. Here’s the story of how it all began:
Our inception and how Proyaash was born
On 1st march 2008, Bhaskar Jyoti Saikia gave a scrap in social Networking community website Orkut,
"Asom... amar matribhumi" buli kolei nohobo...let's take some action 4 the kind of our "matribhumi...ami orkutot jimanei tetu fali siyoru asomor ketiau unnati nohoi...asomor homosya hodai homosya yei hoi thakibo...moi ata kotha bhabisu...kiyo ami ai comm tur ata fund nukhulu??.. ai comm tur 8000+ member ase... xokoluye ai fund tut contribute korile bohu toka gut khabo....ami ai toka bohu bhal kamot khotabo parim..barikha ahi ase....asomot barikha manei bolia baan...ami flood victim hokolok tu relief dibo parim....an bhal kamotu ai toka use korar thol ase..”
The initial response to this was “It is Infeasible.”
Slowly as days passed one by one, Assamese students, teachers and professionals working all around the world saw a challenge in this initiative and started sharing their views. Assamese Doctors, engineers, software professionals, project managers, MBA’s, IIT Students, Teachers, Media Professionals came together with their views to sort out the probable course of action through online conferences and as a result of various such discussions and brainstorming , “Proyaash” was formed.
The name “Proyaash” was chosen for the organization as it means “an initiative” to help the people of Assam to improve their socio economic condition as well as to present Assam in a better way in global scenario.
The call for Proyaash:
